Clarke and Clarke is a three attorney general practice law firm in Maysville, Kentucky.  John H. Clarke, Jr. first opened his solo practice on Sutton Street in Maysville in 1943.  In 1969 his oldest son, James L. (Jim) came back to Maysville to join the practice and the firm’s name changed to what it has gone by ever since: Clarke and Clarke.  In 1973 John’s second son, J. Kirk (Kirk), joined the firm.  In 1994 a third generation of Clarkes entered the picture as J. Kelly (Kelly) Clarke, oldest son of Jim, joined the firm.  In 2003 Jim’s youngest son, Michael M. Clarke, began practicing law with his family.

Much has changed since 1943.  John H. Clarke, Jr., after practicing law for almost sixty years, passed away in 2003.  J. Kelly Clarke left the firm in 2012 to assume the elected position of Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit.  However, Clarke and Clarke’s tradition of providing competent, experienced and personalized legal representation to its clients in a broad array of general legal areas has not.  Please contact us to discuss your situation and we will do our best to assist you.
